October 2021 President's Letter

Henry Fischer | Published on 10/1/2021
Fellow members, Here it is October already and we’re starting the new fiscal year for the Men’s Club. We have a new club president, officers and board members. Several new committees have been added which will allow greater participation and input by non-board members. Please consider joining a committee; we’ll all benefit. We have some great speakers in the coming weeks, but we’re always on the lookout for new presentations. Although suggesting a subject for a presentation is helpful, what is really needed is a person or group to contact (Name, phone, email.) The more information that you can provide, the more likely we can locate a speaker. First Vice President Jim Hoekwater can becontacted for available dates.

We’re in pretty good shape through December, but have a lot of room for next year. During the last few months of the year we are preparing for printing and distribution of the directory. This is a costly endeavor and, each year, we try to pay for it through ads. If you know of any business that might be a potential ad purchase, please contact me (Henry Fischer) and we’ll see if we can provide them with one.

By now, everyone should have paid his 2022 dues, but if not, contact Treasurer Dave Buckler to avoid being removed from membership and the directory. Although life members don’t need to pay dues, their contribution is always welcome.

Also, if you’ve had any changes to your directory information since you’ve paid your dues, contact Jim Regan for correction to the database and to make sure that the directory is correct. If you sent in a change with your invoice, those corrections have already been made.

As I said at the beginning we have some great speakers in the next few weeks and know that we will continue to get the member support that we have always had. Tompkins Center in Grosse Pointe Park is our home base for now and I look forward to seeing and talking to as many members as possible at the lunch meetings.
