Ah, November, the month of
Thanksgiving. Yes, the month!
Thanksgiving isn’t just a day
when we overeat and watch football, but a time to reflect on all
of the events, both good and bad,
that have made us who we are.
Yes, there have been some bad
times, but I’m sure that you would
agree that the good times far
outweigh the bad. Hence the term;
“Count your blessings.” Life is
what we make of it. Why wait until the New Year before planning for the future. Now
the question is: How do we make the future? Where
does the Men’s Club fit in to all this?
Well, we can be thankful that the Club is still
viable despite Covid-19. We adapted to the times,
first by Zoom meetings and now back to meeting as a
group. Call me old fashioned, I am, but I want to meet
with my friends in person, not electronically.
By now, everyone should have paid his 2022 dues,
but if not, contact Treasurer, Dave Buckler, to avoid
being removed from membership roles and the directory. Also, if you’ve had any changes to your directory
information after you paid dues, contact Jim Regan
for correction to the database and to make sure that
the next directory is correct. If you sent in a change
with your invoice, those corrections have already been
made.
Although life members don’t need to pay dues,
their contribution is always welcome. As you will see
on page 2 most do so. Thank you for your continued
support!
There are two things that are on the mind of all past
and current Club presidents: Growing the Club and
increasing participation. Although we concentrate on
potential members our own age, we’re not limited to
retirees. With more people working from home, it’s
possible to recruit members from the 55 to 65 group. If
they can get away for a couple of hours twice a month,
why not make it a lunch.with the Men’s Club. Then
try to see if the Sub Clubs (golf, cards chorale, tennis,
pool) can fit in with your schedule.
The month of December has only one meeting
and that’s the Christmas party on December 14th.
Show the invitation on page 1 to your spouse and
reserve your place NOW!!!
