An excursion! A get-a-away!
Forty some members of the Men’s Club, and their guests, once again had an occasion to access old memories as well as learn new things about our city’s ever fascinating river and waterfront. The day was sunny and brisk as many of us gathered at Sindbad's for lunch and the first trip to memory lane in that old standby restaurant. Danny, our driver, knew the way to the dock where the Diamond Queen awaited.
Martin Steffke, ship’s narrator, started our cruise with a lively, well researched description of structures on the river, as well as the new development of our ever changing waterfront.
As we made our turn downriver we had sight of the amazing Gordie Howe Bridge, a 6.4 billion dollar project to be entirely paid for by Canada. Thanks Canada! We will gladly pay our tolls when it opens next year.
